Bond, Jess Bond

 Not at all fair...
Back to Full Blog

The one day it stops raining outside, its twenty million degrees. So I am driving all over town and trying desperately to stay cool, all of the windows down in the car, and that night when I get home it is still blistering, even in the dark, and so I leave all the windows down so that the car can breathe and not be a greenhouse in the morning.

The next morning, three hours ago, I awake and find that it is raining cats and dogs and horses and cows and all sorts of other animals... I am lying in my bed listening to the rain beat the window of my room when the realization that the interior of my car is probably taking on quite a lot of water. Very quickly. I don't move. I figure that its been raining for a generous amount of time now, that the inside of my car is soaked and no amount of me running outside into it and rolling up the windows is going to alter that. So I just lay there. Then the phone rings.

So I'm up now. My car is still getting pelted with rain 45 minutes later. I just… watch it happen through the window while eating my cereal. While brushing my teeth, while writing a note that we were running low on milk, while gathering the homework I had been working on last night, while washing the silver smear still present on the inside of my hand away into the sink. Then I grabbed a shirt and a towel and stuffed them over my bag so that the inside would not get wet as I went outside, and then opened my front door.

It was raining a bit harder than I had originally thought. Which changed nothing about the situation or what I would have done. With amazing speed and a casual air I bolted from the front steps, across the lawn, into my car and rolled up all of the windows. I keep the house key in the car because I would lose it otherwise and now needed to grab it and go back to lock my door. I found it floating in three inches of water in the side pocket of my car door.

Yadda yadda yadda, amazing speed, casual air, click snap LOCK zoom zoom boom, here I am back in the car. Sitting on the towel that I brought with me, driving through a river that used to be the road, and on my merry way to school.

Now I’m up to my eyeballs in Arby. If you’ve checked his latest blog… wow. One thing is for certain, the kid sure is committed. (shrugs happily)

I’ve been so far gone! I haven’t been able to post or heard tell of my good friend the aussie in longer than forever! Its been hell on wheels. What with final tests coming up and massive projects to be done and much much work and the winding down of a debate year ending with a rather intruiging but ultimately tiresome mock trial. I’m an attorney! Yeah! The only occupation recognized the world over as being composed of mostly sniveling liars!

But not so interesting are the things of my life as are your own Ms. Bond! I haven’t been able to check my email so there’s no telling if you actually mailed me or left a private comment or who the heck knows what but I am very interested to know how you’re holding up over there, especially following a particular crisis with a particular friend with a particular name something that sounds an awful lot like Carly. Is everything okay? Has the entire ordeal eroded into hell! Are you two best friends once more!? Are you sworn forever to be lethal and violent enemies, inducting every resource at your command from battleships to nuclear missiles to each other’s destruction!!?!?! Though, I do expect that had it escalated to that scale that I would have heard about it some how.

“Say what? An all out nuclear war broke out in Australia?!”
"No kididng, two girls, they're just going at it, never would have thought it could have come to this."
"They must be very passionate Aussies."
"Truly, they must be..."

I thought in my ever so extended absence that I would at least post... SOMETHING. I may be able to check my email later today in which case you will most certainly recieve an email. But for now... well the bell is about to ring and dismiss me from first class, so I have to go! :( Talk to you soon Jess.

Car Washed all up, Caleb? I think it's funny How I use your key to Impale little Call me notes on you car. Tonight We See Vendetta!!!! ^_^ I didn't find her, but My Com Arts Teacher knows whom I speak of, and Will deliver the Message to my Friend. Friday's the last day, I'm just glad that she didn't have her first hour. I was cutting it when I forgot to tell Mrs. G. BEFORE school Started. This rain isn't mine though, so please don't strangle me for turning your car into a mobil wadeing pool! You really souldn't be so picky about use the AC. I'm sure less Gas is used by running it than hauling around thirty gallons of water in your CAR! ^_^

Hey, sorry, i havent been able to write or post this week either. This week was HELL for me too. You would not believe the amount of work that i had to do! I had three assignments due in (one of which i had completed by the weekend before) and a test. I hate tests!! I got so sick of them last year, and now i have to do them again!! I hate it! So now, with much relief, i raise my hands and type a much needed update for you! YAY!

Nothing has really developed in relation to carly and me. No nuclear war to speak of. I dont know if her mum spoke to her or not. Amy got so fed up and wrote her a text message on tuesday saying that they 'needed to talk' so could they go out to dinner together. Carly replied (sometime later i might add) that sure they could go out but, get this... what did they have to talk about? Yeah, sure like you dont know! Amy (who has a limited BS policy) said 'you know what the hell we have to talk about!' which i thought was good. So they went out to dinner wednesday night and amy called me before they went and told me she had made a list of things she needed to say. AND she started crying while writing it! HOW EMOTIONAL MUST IT HAVE BEEN! I only have a basic idea of how the night went because we've both been busy with uni and stuff since then, but for what i can tell i dont think it went well. Apparently carly cried at the restuarant and was practically in disbelief the whole time and amy (to her credit) didnt crumble. I dont know if anything was resolved but i do know this weekend is going to be F U N! Its my friend alisons birthday and shes having a party with her family and all of us. It should be interesting to say the least.

More updates on that soon, i'm sure! Why are you still up until all hours of the morning doing mysterious things with silver! you should be sleeping! you have exams and stuff coming up soon and you need rest! Come on! and i'm sorry about your car, although it really is your own fault! you need more sleep and then you would have been more alert and would have remembered to ROLL THE CAR WINDOWS UP! I have been reading arby's blogs, i must say, they are very action packed. I wish (but kinda dont wish) that i had that much excitement in my life. I guess by later today... or tomorrow or something, arby will be finished school. I figure hes pretty excited. You dont finish till next week though, right? Well hope everything goes well this week and i'm sure i'll speak or hear from you soon -

Jess :P

PS: Johnny misses you TERRIBLY! hehe
